This was a company well-known to insiders but not the general public. Their name was the name behind many companies selling costume jewelry from 1947-1990, and includes a company they created for retail sales, Juliana Jewelry. The list of companies purchasing jewelry from DeLizza & Elster during that timeframe, reads like a star-studded guest list. Companies like Capri, Alice Caviness, Coro, Kramer and Weiss to company moguls like Hattie Carnegie, Joan Rivers and Kenneth J. Lane. There were home party and catalog companies like Sarah Coventry, Tara and XXX as well as large corporations such as Surprise! Walt Disney. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a safe in the home had been opened and about $100,000.00 in jewelry had been taken. A subsequent investigation lead to a local woman who had previously worked for the owners of the jewelry and was familiar with the layout of the home. A warrant was issued for Donna Mauldin, DOB 5/24/60, of 1714 Maple Avenue, Panama City. Mauldin was picked up and is currently incarcerated for Principle to Grand Theft and Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling. The jewelry was found in a pawn shop in Carroll County, Georgia and released to the Bay County Sheriff's Office on Friday, January 26,2007. That is true with some of the bead finds on the Avisa Imports web site. They have loads of gemstone beaded jewelry at (pardon the pun) rock bottom prices. They call themselves a "wholesale to the public" company, and that usually means they import huge quantities of impulse purchase type items that enables them to sell at very low prices. Now, you aren't going to find one-of-a-kind original beaded jewelry designs here, but if you are looking to stock up on some fun fashion jewelry for yourself, or maybe you are a super early bird holiday shopper and need some stocking stuffers for the babysitter or your child's teachers, then this is also a place you may want to check out. .

Room jewelry

Antique brasses on valuable old tables, secretaries, buffets and breakfronts are not to be trifled with or their antique value might drop dramatically. Ever witness the heartbreak of hopefuls appearing on "Antiques Roadshow" when they're told that their furniture would have been worth $50,000, except for the lame hardware replacing the originals? So don't go replacing any drawer pulls, hinges, cabinet doorknobs, locks or latches on family heirlooms or furniture purchased at auction. A new chest of drawers might benefit from a hardware upgrade or style switch, or most any piece from a flea market or yard sale. And isn't it just too easy and fun to switch out the hardware on lesser items around the house, such as drawer knobs on a bedroom chest from childhood, or a piece of unfinished furniture you've nicely painted that's ready for some jewelry do-dahs on the drawers or doors? The majority of Israels jewelry exports were to the United States: 77 percent of gold jewelry exports, 56 percent of diamond jewelry, 23.6 percent of gem set gold jewelry, and 66 percent of all fashion jewelry exports. Thirteen percent of diamond jewelry exports went to the UK, 4 percent to Switzerland, and 3.5 percent to Hong Kong. According to Sigal Shidlovsky, director of the jewelry division at the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Labor, the Israeli jewelry industry was affected by the summer war in Lebanon. Despite the war, exports of diamond and gem set gold jewelry increased 4 percent to $131 million.

Couple robbed of jewelry, heirlooms worth thousands

As Dale Lewis lists off some of the jewelry taken Tuesday during a break-in at the Charleston Township residence she shares with her husband, she doesn't calculate its value in dollars. Li Fang-yu's childhood dream was to be a dancer; last November, aged 38 and now known as Awa Li, she celebrated the first exhibition of her handcrafted jewelry at the National Museum of History in Taipei. Her dancing career was actually going nicely, she explained. After graduating from the dance department of the Private Tainan Junior College of Home Economics--forerunner of today's Tainan University of Technology--Li went to China in 1988 when she was 20, where she continued to study dance and then started teaching. She had always enjoyed costume drama, however, and spent much of her spare time in Beijing watching television programs, checking out the actors' traditional attire and elaborate ornamentations, especially the delicate pins and beads of their headwear.

Fine Jewelry Linked with Family Memories Now Available in New ...

Monica Rich Kosann's professional photography has led her to create modern day heirlooms for others to showcase their loved ones. Sales included $34,020 for a 1954 ballerina brooch (above) to more than $1 million for a six-strand natural pearl necklace. The graceful dance of the French jeweler, founded by Alfred Van Cleef with his brother Charles Arpels in 1906 (and refined in the Art Deco period), produced many jewels that were exceptional for their workmanship. They include the famous "mystery setting" in which the gem stones appear to cluster magically together without any visible support. Eric M. Dantzler, 44, was taken into custody by sheriffs deputies in Queens on Friday. Police say Dantzler is one of two armed men who bound the clerks and stole several hundred thousand dollars worth of diamond and gold jewelry from the store. Dantzler is charged with first-degree robbery, a felony. He was arraigned in Town of Union Court and sent to Broome County Jail without bail, police said. A jury yesterday convicted Troy Smith of four counts of robbery and other charges after he, his brother and a third man stole an estimated four-point-75 (m) million dollars worth of antique jewelry from Lang Antique and Estate Jewelry in downtown San Francisco in April of 2003. Because the 44-year-old Smith -- who also goes by the name of Devin Smith -- had committed three prior offenses, he will be sentenced under the state's "three strikes" law. That means Smith could get 35 years to life when he's sentenced. No sentencing date has been scheduled. Smith was convicted after he and his two accomplishes -- his brother Dino Smith and George Turner -- were convicted last year.

WORLD JEWELRY CENTER PROJECT UNVEILED TO JEWELRY INDUSTRY LEADERS

City of Las Vegas Officials in conjunction with Probity International Corporation have unveiled plans for one of the largest jewelry projects in the world, the approximately one-million square foot mixed-use World Jewelry Center (WJC). Celebrities like Geena Davis, Debra Messing, Annette Bening would be wearing her dangling earring designs. Of course, she said no....ah...just kidding....!! That is where it started for this young jewelry designer, but she continues to get press for her designs and her company called Mish Mash Jewels. Here's more about her experience from CentreDaily.com: "I got a phone call, and they asked to speak to the director of marketing," she said. "I'm the owner, the designer, the director of PR, finance, the secretary. I immediately called my parents and told them." The same couple is believed to be responsible for jewelry heists at Meijer stores in Wixom and the Flint area earlier in that same night. Brighton Police Chief Tom Wightman said the pair stole $100,000 worth of jewelry from the store on Grand River Avenue at I-96 at 6:45 a.m. Friday. The store was open, but the jewelry counter was closed. Wightman said the store recently started carrying diamond jewelry, and the jewelry was left overnight in the display cases, which don't have alarms. The female thief was seen behind the jewelry counter at the same Meijer store a month ago, but escaped as security guards chased her, Wightman said.

Jewelry designer crafts for average folks, prominent Hollywood ...

What do State College and pre-Emmy parties have in common?
